Skin needling is performed to create collagen induction by using the skin's natural ability to repair itself through micro-injuries caused during the skin needling treatment. Skin needling triggers the skin to release growth factors to repair the micro-injuries including collagen and elastin which decreases as we age. Skin needling can also be performed for skin tightening, improvement of sun damage, acne scars, enlarged pores and other skin related concerns. Skin needling is performed with a small electronic hand held device with tiny needles that puncture the skin 1-2.5mm deep. Most people will need 3-6 sessions to permanently remove or reduce the appearance of their concern depending on the severity of the concern.
